The Three Best Bakeries For Thanksgiving Pies in Providence

Thanksgiving is just around the corner and that means bakeries surrounding our apartments in Providence, Rhode Island are preparing to serve up their best in seasonally-inspired pies.

Here are our top picks for where to find the area's best Turkey Day pie favorites, from apple to pumpkin to pecan.

LaSalle Bakery

993 Smith St. (401-831-9563) and 685 Admiral St. (401-228-0081)

With two locations in Elmhurst, LaSalle Bakery has been making pies and other baked deliciousness under the ownership of the Manni family since 1975. This is a bakery with deep roots in Providence, and that shows in how it gives back to the community. And the pies? Delicious. Top quality seasonal ingredients, hand-rolled crust...they've got pie-making down to an art at LaSalle.

Wayland Bakery

138 Wayland Ave. (401-421-2900)

Across the river from River House in Wayland, Wayland Bakery has been a Providence institution for over 80 years. You want pies? Wayland makes ten varieties in three sizes (plus four more cream pie options). Get your Thanksgiving order in early for a pumpkin pie, though. They only make them seasonally and from the freshest ingredients.

Sin

1413 Westminster St. (401-369-8427)

In Federal Hill you'll find Sin. No, not that kind. Sin is a modern, specialty bakery that's been voted among Rhode Island Monthly's Best of Rhode Island. Get your order in by November 12 for a tasty treat from their specialty Thanksgiving menu of pies, cakes, and rolls.

That does it for our picks for pies in Providence. But, we're not quite finished. No Providence Thanksgiving feast would be complete without a few cannoli, zeppole, or Italian cookies added to your dessert offerings. For some of Providence's best Italian pastry, we suggest you check out Scialo Bakery on Federal Hill or DeLuise Bakery at the intersection of Chalkstone and Mount Pleasant.
