Roger Williams Park is Home to Top Attractions

Since the 1890s, Providence has been home to a premier destination that's complete with one hundred acres of ponds and a variety of major attractions.

Enjoy historical attractions at Roger Williams Park.

We're talking about the Roger Williams Park, and it's listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Highlights include:

Botanical Center

Constructed in 2007, the Botanical Center is the largest indoor garden display in New England. It features an array of flowers and is known as a fun place to learn about the natural world. Docent-led tours are available Tuesday through Friday and include environmental information about the plants and their uses.

Roger Williams Park Zoo

The Roger Williams Park Zoo is the third oldest zoo in the United States, and it began from humble beginnings with a collection of small animal exhibitions. Today, it spans forty-acres of scenic woodlands and is home to more than 150 animal species from around the world. Exhibits include Fabric of Africa, World of Adaptations, and North America. The zoo also hosts fun events throughout the year such as Brew at the Zoo and Yoga with the Elephants.

Carousel Village

The historic carousel features benches, classic colonial horses, and mystical creatures. It's open every year from February through December and costs just two dollars to ride. Weekly through September 28th, the village is also hosting Food Truck Friday from 5:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Monuments and Sculptures

More than fifteen monuments and sculptures are found within the park, and visitors can take a self-guided tour to learn about their meaning and unique history. Highlights include The Falconer, Abraham Lincoln, and The Sentinel (the park's most famous monument).
