Shop, Dine, and Enjoy Nature in the Wayland Square Neighborhood

Nestled along the edge of the Seekonk River is a lively destination known as Wayland Square.

It's a classic New England neighborhood where locals gather to shop, dine, and explore nature.

Wayland Square is an easy drive from our Providence, Rhode Island apartments, with highlights including:

If you're looking for a refreshingly different spa experience, step into Alayne White. This boutique destination is consistently named among New England's best day spas. It's where everyone knows your name, and it offers award-winning treatments in an intimate atmosphere. Founder Alayne White has worked in the beauty industry for nearly 30 years. She started at a facial salon and later used her knowledge to open the spa. Facials include Mask Blast, It's All in Your Head, and Extraction Satisfaction.

For a meal with a view, head to Mare. This rooftop restaurant overlooks downtown Providence and offers an exceptional experience in a relaxed atmosphere. Executive Chef, Jules Ramos, has more than 25 years of experience. He specializes in regional American fare and works with local farmers and culinary artisans. Offerings include filet mignon, grilled swordfish, and braised short ribs.

Spanning 45-acres, Blackstone Park is a scenic natural woodland that supports plant and wildlife habitats. It's enjoyed by hikers, bikers, and anglers throughout the year. Migrant birds visit during the fall and spring months, making the park a popular bird watching destination. There are dozens of species, including the red-throated loons. These large, duck-like seabirds have daggerlike bills and narrow, pointed wings. Breeding adults have grayish-brown feathers, rusty throat patches, and black-and-white striped necks. They're usually quiet but may vocalize on calm days.
