Spend a Day at the Botanical Center in Providence

It's always a good idea to have an activity up your sleeve for when family and friends visit or if you just want to explore the community by yourself. The Botanical Center at the Roger Williams Park in Providence has so much to see, so much to learn, and so much to enjoy! People of all ages can take in the beautiful gardens outside or the amazing gardens inside.

The Roger Williams Park was designed in 1878 by Horace W. S. Cleveland, a landscape architect. The park itself is on the National Register of Historic Places list⁠—meaning it is definitely a beautiful sight to behold. The park offers 427 acres of attractions such as a zoo, rose gardens, Japanese garden, the botanical center, and so much more.

The Botanical Center was built in 2007 and is the largest indoor garden display in New England at 23,000 square feet. There are over 150 different types of plants and it is split into two greenhouses⁠—the Mediterranean Room and the Conservatory. Inside the Botanical Center is also a small waterfall, fountains, and a fish pond. With so many things in so much space, you'll never get tired of exploring this amazing place!
