From your apartment, you can easily walk or take public transportation to any of these great places to see highly skilled artists perform.

PROVIDENCE PERFORMING ARTS CENTER

Locals (meaning anyone living in RI since it's that small) call this historic theatre "PPAC" and come from all over the state and nearby Massachusetts to watch performances here. The inside is gorgeous harkening back to the old days of glamour and high class. There isn't a bad seat in the house so you don't have to be afraid to purchase seats a little farther back. The performances held at this theatre cover a wide spectrum of concerts, plays, and other performance art. Visit the Providence Performing Arts Center website for a complete list of upcoming events.

VETERANS MEMORIAL AUDITORIUM

Another historic building, "The Vets" is a great place to see musicians, lectures, and shows. The theatre recently received a $16 million dollar renovation, and now it is the spot to visit nationally touring acts in comfort and style. You can also enjoy their Encore Lounge, an intimate area to enjoy complimentary snacks and beverages before, after, and during the show. From The Vets website, you can learn more about the renovation and discover which of their many offerings you want to see.

FESTIVAL BALLET PROVIDENCE BLACK BOX THEATRE

Located on Hope Street among unique shops and restaurants, you can find this hidden gem of a theatre. In this ninety seat venue, you get a very up close and personal view of every performance. According to FBP Black Box Theatre, you're close enough to hear the dancers breath! In 2017, the theatre underwent a technological upgrade of LED lighting making the shows even more vibrant than before. And if you're truly inspired by the dancers, you can also take ballet lessons at the same location.
