The WaterFire Arts & Craft Festival is the place to be on Saturday, April 20, from noon to 6 pm at the WaterFire Arts Center. Come enjoy this free indoor arts and crafts festival featuring the work of local artists and craftspeople, with mediums including:
Local artisans of all kinds will be at the WaterFire Art & Craft Festival, along with local food and live music. It's a great way to enjoy the Valley Street neighborhood pre-season, before the bonfire lighting events that take place there in the summer and fall near our apartments in Providence, RI.
Another way to enjoy WaterFire pre-season is to take a WaterFire walking tour along the canal with a guide and learn how these community events come to life.
The WaterFire Arts Center is a presence on the Woonasquatucket River, host of the WaterFire Lightings that accompany live music several times during the season. (The 2019 season schedule hasn't been confirmed yet, but you can take a look at what last year's schedule was like.) These are fun, free events where the fires and music are the centerpiece of the event. In addition, you can also enjoy a boat ride, the Starry Starry Night Field of lit stars and lanterns, living statues, and dancing.
WaterFire is also the venue for the New England Outdoor Living and Garden Show and other events like pop-up shops. Mainly, WaterFire's work to promote the arts and the Providence community is what it's known for.
If you love this community, you'll be happy at River House in the Providence Innovation & Design District. Your modern riverfront apartment here is spacious and full of amenities -- all in a walkable neighborhood that is close to everything.
